Prosenjit, Yusuf Pathan, Satabdi Roy meet CM Suvendu amid Rajya Sabha buzz

The state secretariat, Nabanna, witnessed a series of high-profile visits on Thursday, as Tollywood superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee, Berhampore MP Yusuf Pathan, and Birbhum MP Satabdi Roy met with Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. These successive meetings have triggered intense speculation across the state's political circles. The visits come at a highly crucial juncture, just weeks ahead of the scheduled Rajya Sabha by-elections for three seats in West Bengal.

Superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee’s meeting with Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has garnered massive attention as it follows closely on the heels of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's personal visit to the actor’s residence earlier in the week. Emerging from the state secretariat, Prosenjit swiftly dismissed any partisan theories, asserting to journalists that there was absolutely no discussion regarding active politics during his brief interaction with the Chief Minister. Instead, the discussion was described as a courtesy exchange primarily focused on cultural and developmental matters related to the regional entertainment sector.

Simultaneously, former Indian cricketer and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Yusuf Pathan alongside veteran actor-turned-politician Satabdi Roy also held discussions with Chief Minister Adhikari. Interestingly, the two parliamentarians were spotted accompanied by members of the rebel TMC faction, which has been actively seeking separate group recognition within the assembly. While the leaders maintained that these were administrative courtesy calls regarding constituency development, the timing of their presence at Nabanna alongside the rebel faction continues to fuel deep political chatter.
