A woman named Priyanka Nath was found dead inside her residence in Azad Hind Nagar, Panihati. According to family members, Priyanka had been living in the house for several years with her husband Sukanta Nath and their 8-year-old son. Her phone had been switched off since night, and multiple calls from relatives went unanswered. A family member visited the residence and found the main door locked from the outside.
Neighbors were called to help break the door. Upon entering, they discovered Priyanka's body under the bed with slashed wrists and bloodstains across the room. Her husband and child were not present at the location. The incident was reported to Ghola Police, who arrived at the scene and sent the body for post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and started investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
Law enforcement is examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area and conducting searches to locate Sukanta Nath and the child. Local residents have expressed concern over the incident. Security has been increased in the neighborhood as the investigation continues.
