Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an election rally in Barrackpore, West Bengal on Sunday, May 12. In a fervent speech, Modi targeted the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), asserting five assurances for the state’s future. "I am giving five guarantees to Bengal. As long as I am here, there will be no religion-based reservation," Modi declared, emphasizing the preservation of existing SC, ST, and OBC reservations, safeguarding Ram Navami Puja, upholding the Supreme Court's verdict on Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and preserving the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
Accusing the TMC of neglecting Bengal's legacy, Modi highlighted its descent into corruption and alleged violence. He condemned the TMC-Congress alliance, accusing them of indulging in divisive politics. Modi projected optimism for BJP's prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, vowing to elevate eastern states like West Bengal into growth engines for the nation.
