The body of 15-year-old Shubham Prasad was found near a pond in the Barachak Boyla Dhaura area under Asansol South police jurisdiction on Sunday morning. Local residents discovered him lying face down in a semi-nude state, suggesting he may have gone to the pond to relieve himself.
Shubham’s family stated that he left home around 5 a.m. to go for the toilet but did not return. Around 6 a.m., locals spotted him near the pond and alerted his family. Shubham’s mother, who is mute and deaf, reached the spot and sought help from nearby people to get her son medical attention.
Police were informed immediately, reached the scene, and called an ambulance to take Shubham to Asansol District Hospital. Despite efforts, he was declared dead, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding Shubham’s death. The incident has left the local community in shock, and police have appealed to anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
