Asked to play till 60, MS Dhoni’s "I can try" sparks roar at Chepauk fan event

The franchise will begin its campaign against Rajasthan Royals on March 30, just days after the tournament kicks off on March 28. The legendary cricketer recently drew huge cheers during a special fan event hosted by Chennai Super Kings at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. During the event, actor Sivakarthikeyan, who shared the stage with the CSK squad, humorously urged Dhoni to continue playing cricket until the age of 60. The remark sparked laughter and anticipation among the crowd. Responding with a smile, Dhoni replied, “It will be difficult, but I can try,” triggering thunderous applause from the fans gathered at the stadium. The light-hearted moment quickly became a highlight of the evening, once again reflecting the strong bond between Dhoni and the CSK supporters at Chepauk.

The event also saw the franchise honour former CSK stars Suresh Raina and Matthew Hayden by inducting them into the team’s inaugural Hall of Fame. Dhoni also presented mementoes to players including Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube and Under-19 World Cup-winning captain Ayush Mhatre during the celebration, as the team gears up for the new IPL season with hopes of chasing another title.
