Assam tragedy: Woman's mutilated body found on National Highway-37

In a shocking incident in Dibrugarh district of Assam, a man has been arrested on charges of raping and murdering a woman. On Sunday morning, dead body of a woman was found on National Highway-37 at Dibrugarh town bypass. The crime scene indicated a brutal and gruesome act of violence as the woman's body was badly mutilated.

Dibrugarh Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Raju Chetry, revealed that the man was discovered lying unconscious nearby, attempting to portray the incident as an accident. However, upon preliminary investigation, it became evident that foul play was involved. Consequently, the police registered a case against the man, encompassing charges of criminal conspiracy, rape, and murder, leading to his subsequent arrest.

Details surrounding the accused have emerged, revealing that he is a married individual with two children, the eldest of whom is currently a Class 9 student. The victim, on the other hand, was a 21-year-old woman who had recently completed her graduation earlier this year. The arrested suspect is scheduled to be presented before the court, and further investigations into this case are ongoing.
