At least 75 countries are set to sign the ‘Delhi Declaration’ at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, marking a significant global push toward coordinated artificial intelligence development. The declaration, described as a non-binding pledge outlining shared goals for AI growth, is being seen as one of the key outcomes of the summit held in New Delhi. Union minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw is expected to address the media on the development on Friday evening.
Earlier, the government announced the New Delhi Frontier AI Commitments, which Vaishnaw termed a “significant outcome” of the summit. He said leading global frontier AI companies and Indian firms had come together to adopt a voluntary framework aimed at fostering inclusive and shared AI advancement. Calling it a shared commitment, the minister underlined the focus on responsible innovation and collaboration.
India hosted the India AI Impact Summit 2026 from February 16 to February 21 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The high-level gathering brought together heads of state, senior government officials and technology executives, highlighting the growing global significance of artificial intelligence and its role in shaping economies and governance frameworks.
In a related development, India formally joined Pax Silica, the United States’ flagship initiative focused on AI and supply chain security. India and the US signed the Pax Silica Declaration on the sidelines of the summit, a move described as a historic milestone aimed at strengthening economic security and reinforcing trusted technology partnerships.
The Pax Silica Declaration emphasises the importance of resilient and reliable supply chains while recognising artificial intelligence as a transformative force for long-term prosperity. Together with the Delhi Declaration and Frontier AI Commitments, the developments signal a broader international effort to align AI innovation with economic security and inclusive growth objectives.
