Auto overturns near petrol pump in Bokaro, driver killed & passengers injured

A tragic road accident took place on Friday morning in Gomia, situated in Jharkhand’s Bokaro district, when an auto-rickshaw overturned near a petrol pump close to Hajari Mod. The mishap resulted in the death of the driver on the spot, while the passengers onboard sustained minor injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Kumar Saw, 48, a resident of 4 Number Colony, Kathara. He is survived by his wife and two sons, who were devastated upon hearing the news. The family’s grief turned into chaos as neighbors gathered to console them amid the heartbreaking loss.

According to eyewitnesses, the auto was traveling from Gomia to Kathara, carrying several passengers. The accident occurred when the front tire of the auto suddenly burst, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle veered off the road and overturned into nearby bushes, leading to the fatal impact that claimed the driver's life.

Locals quickly gathered at the accident site and helped rescue the injured passengers, transporting them to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, their injuries were reported to be minor and non-life-threatening.

Gomia police arrived at the scene shortly after being informed. They conducted an initial investigation, took custody of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. The cause of the accident was confirmed to be the sudden tire burst, and no foul play is suspected at this stage.
