Ayodhya verdict judges invited for Ram temple ceremony on January 22

In a significant gesture, the five Supreme Court judges who delivered the historic Ayodhya verdict in November 2019 have been extended invitations to attend the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple scheduled for January 22.

The distinguished bench included Justice Ashok Bhushan, Justice SA Bobde, former Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, and Justice S Abdul Nazeer. Notably, all members of the bench, except for DY Chandrachud, have retired, with SA Bobde serving as the Chief Justice of India from November 2019 to April 2021.

The consecration ceremony, known as 'pran pratishtha,' is set to witness the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, marking a significant step in the construction of the Ram Temple. The term 'pran pratishtha' refers to instilling the idol with divine consciousness, a pivotal ritual in the consecration process.

While the Prime Minister urges the public to avoid visiting Ayodhya on January 22 to prevent disruptions to the ceremony, he welcomes devotees to witness the historic moment starting from January 23.
