Azaan rang during school prayer in Mumbai, BJP-Shiv Sena protest, dispute deepens

A controversy erupted after an azaan was played during a morning school prayer in Mumbai's Kandivali West. Against this, the BJP MLA demanded action against the guilty teacher. After the matter came to light, parents of students protested outside Kapol International School on Friday morning.

It has been just two days since the new school session started, but a controversy has erupted in schools regarding Azaan. The Shiv Sena looked to the school for an answer. After Ajan, there was a big commotion outside the school. Therefore, the presence of the police outside the school is increased as a precaution.

BJP MLA Yogesh Sagar, who reached the school, demanded action against the teacher who played the recording. Students narrated their domestic ordeal regarding Ajan. After that, the parents took an aggressive stance. Parents and Shiv Sena workers gathered in the school premises and raised slogans.

Along with this, the Shiv Sena filed a complaint against the school with the Kandivali police and demanded a case be registered. Along with this, Shiv Sena has sent a written letter to the school that it is not playing the Azaan on the loudspeaker. Meanwhile, the school informed that in all these cases, the teacher who played the azaan was suspended.

In a statement, the school said that at school, we play the prayers of each religion over loudspeakers so that students can understand them. This activity is implemented by the school to help students understand Gayatri Mantra, chanting carols or other religious prayers. As part of this initiative, Azaan was played on loudspeaker today, but keeping in mind the sentiments of parents, we have stopped Azaan. We listen to parents. The school gave an assurance that now we will not play Azaan like this in the school.
