Bad weather grounds Amit Shah’s helicopter in Patna, addresses Bihar rally virtually

Union home minister Amit Shah’s helicopter was grounded at Patna airport on Saturday due to poor weather conditions, delaying his scheduled departure to Bihar’s poll-bound districts. Shah was slated to address public rallies in Gopalganj, Samastipur, and Vaishali, but adverse weather forced him to stay back at the airport until conditions improved.

Despite the disruption, the home minister later addressed the Gopalganj rally virtually, reaffirming the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) confidence in winning the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. He said that the people of Bihar were ready to “free the state from jungle raj,” drawing sharp contrasts between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan alliance.

During an earlier rally in Samastipur, Shah had claimed that the NDA’s victory was certain, saying that by 1 p.m. on November 14—the counting day—Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rahul Gandhi’s “game will be over.” He praised the public turnout across the state and likened the NDA to the “five Pandavas,” emphasizing the alliance’s unity and purpose.
