Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
Bally Municipality has lodged an official complaint at Bally police station against former councillor Prankrishna Majumdar, accusing him of abusing a municipal officer and obstructing work. The incident reportedly took place on August 19 during efforts to address waterlogging in the Belur Station Road area.
Earlier that day, local residents had staged a blockade on Belur Station Road to protest against severe waterlogging. After the road was cleared, municipal officer Upendra Kumar Singh arrived with a team to begin repair and drainage work. It was at this point that Majumdar allegedly used abusive language against the officer and disrupted the task.
The municipality later submitted a written complaint naming Majumdar as the accused. In response, Majumdar said he has not yet received any official notice. He stated that he would provide his reaction only after receiving such notice.
