Bar dancer found dead in Baguihati flat, male friend arrested in suspicious death

A mystery has unfolded in Baguihati, Deshbandhu Nagar, after the body of bar dancer Monisha Roy was discovered in her third-floor flat. The incident took place after a birthday party was held in the flat last night, where Monisha was accompanied by her male friend, Antaryami Swain, a 22-year-old resident of Jagatsinghpur, Odisha. Only the two were present during the event, and both remained in the flat after the celebration.

This morning, Monisha’s body was found on the bed, with visible marks on her neck. Police believe the marks suggest a possible case of strangulation, although the exact cause of death will only be confirmed after the autopsy. Investigations were immediately launched, and Antaryami Swain was taken into custody for questioning. The police also recovered the body after breaking open the locked collapsible gate and three other locks.

According to the police, after the birthday celebration ended, the gate of the flat was locked from the inside, leaving no way for the suspect to escape. It was noted that Monisha kept the keys to the flat, making it impossible for her male friend to leave unnoticed. Swain, who was the only other person inside the flat, remains the key witness to the events that took place, and police are continuing their investigation based on his statements.
