BCCI announces ₹58 crore reward for Team India after Champions Trophy win

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of ₹58 crore for Team India following their historic victory at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This recognition comes after India defeated New Zealand by four wickets in the final, held in Dubai, securing their third Champions Trophy title.

India had previously won the tournament in 2002 (joint winners) and 2013 and had finished as runners-up twice in 2000 and 2017. Under the leadership of skipper Rohit Sharma, Team India remained unbeaten throughout the competition, showcasing dominance on the global stage.

The team began their campaign with a solid six-wicket win over Bangladesh and followed it up with another six-wicket victory against arch-rivals Pakistan. Their winning momentum continued with a 44-run triumph over New Zealand in the group stage, before they defeated Australia by four wickets in the semi-final.

The BCCI stated that the cash award is a token of appreciation for the players, coaching staff, support personnel, and members of the Men’s Selection Committee, recognizing their hard work and dedication to bringing glory to the country.

BCCI President Roger Binny expressed his pride in the team’s achievement, stating, "Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special, and this reward recognizes Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage. This was also our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup triumph, highlighting the strong cricketing ecosystem in place in our country."
