Bengal BJP faces internal hurdles as central leadership flags organisational weakness

During his recent Bengal tour, Union Home Minister Amit Shah confidently declared that the BJP would form the government in West Bengal in 2026. However, questions are surfacing within the party’s own ranks about whether the organisation has the grassroots strength needed to defeat the ruling Trinamool Congress.

According to senior BJP leaders, the state unit is facing multiple internal issues—from infighting to lack of coordination at the booth level—which could hamper their electoral ambitions. The central leadership reportedly feels that the party machinery in Bengal needs serious restructuring and motivation to convert Shah’s vision into electoral reality.

Despite the public show of confidence, insiders suggest that unless key organisational gaps are addressed soon, the road to Nabanna in 2026 will remain steep for the BJP in Bengal.
