Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari issued several important administrative directives during a meeting with departmental secretaries, stating that laxity in government work would no longer be tolerated and instructing all departments to accelerate preparations ahead of the Bengal government’s budget presentation scheduled for June 22. The Chief Minister directed all secretaries to submit their departmental reports and recommendations within the next two weeks and instructed officials to complete preparations for integrating central government schemes with the state administration. He also informed officials that he would attend the NITI Aayog meeting in Delhi on June 11. During the meeting, it was further announced that the Ayushman Bharat scheme would be implemented in Bengal from June instead of July, with the formal launch scheduled for June 8. The Chief Minister is also scheduled to meet Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Thursday regarding the rollout and coordination of the health scheme in the state.
