Bengal Governor C. V. Ananda Bose discharged after 3 weeks of cardiac care, advised rest

West Bengal Governor C. V. Ananda Bose was discharged from a private hospital in Kolkata on Thursday morning after nearly three weeks of treatment. He had been admitted on April 22 following complaints of shoulder pain. Hospital authorities later identified signs of cardiac issues after a detailed medical evaluation.

According to a statement from the hospital, the Governor’s shoulder pain was caused by excessive workload during a field visit. Further investigation revealed mild coronary artery disease. Following the diagnosis, doctors performed an interventional cardiac procedure. The hospital reported that Bose was fully cooperative throughout the process and responded well to the treatment.

“Governor’s oxygen saturation is now at 100 percent. Blood pressure and blood sugar levels are also normal,” the hospital stated. It added that the treatment had a positive effect and the condition was under control. No major complications were reported during the recovery period, and he was declared fit for discharge after multiple rounds of post-procedure evaluations.

The Governor has been advised to slow down his workload and follow a monitored recovery plan. Medical instructions include rest, regular intake of prescribed medication, and adherence to a controlled diet. He is expected to undergo further assessments in the coming weeks to evaluate progress.

Arrangements have been made at Raj Bhavan to support his recovery following discharge. No official meetings or public interactions have been scheduled for now. The focus will remain on medical supervision, routine monitoring, and stabilizing overall health parameters before he resumes regular duties.
