Bengal records 28.1% voter turnout till 11 am, Basirhat leads

According to the Election Commission, the average voter turnout in nine constituencies of West Bengal reached 28.1% by 11 am. Basirhat constituency recorded the highest turnout at 32.57%, followed by Diamond Harbor at 31.51%. Other notable turnouts include Mathurapur at 30.5%, Jayanagar at 30.25%, and Baras at 27.86%. Jadavpur and Dum Dum saw lower turnouts at 26.59% and 24.83%, respectively. The polling rate in Kolkata North and South constituencies was reported as 24.02% each.

The data indicates a significant engagement of voters in the early hours of polling. Basirhat leads among the nine constituencies, demonstrating a higher voter participation compared to other regions. The consistent turnout across various constituencies reflects the electorate's active involvement in the democratic process.
