The West Bengal Special Task Force (STF) has made another successful drug bust in the state, with the recovery of a large quantity of banned narcotics worth over Rs 2 crore in Khadaitala near the National Highway in Ranaghat of Nadia district on Sunday.
Two smugglers were arrested with about two and a half kilos of heroin, and police also recovered Rs 5 lakh in cash and two mobile phones from them. The STF was tipped off by a secret source and laid a trap on National Highway 34.
The accused have been identified as Abul Kalam Mandal and Tapas Das.
This comes as part of a series of recent drug seizures in the state, with North Bengal being identified as a drug corridor.
