Bengal woman rescued after alleged job trap and days of rape in Delhi, 1 held

A shocking incident has come to light from South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, where a woman was allegedly lured to Delhi with a promise of employment, only to become a victim of repeated sexual assault. The accused, Toton Das, a resident of Patharpratima, has been arrested after the woman managed to escape and return to her home in Kakdwip.

According to police sources, the woman, a housewife, was in search of a job when Toton approached her with an offer to work in Delhi. Trusting him, she agreed to travel with him, but once they reached Delhi, she was allegedly confined to a house. Instead of providing the promised job, the accused allegedly subjected her to multiple instances of rape over several days. During this time, he reportedly recorded the abuse on his mobile phone and threatened her with the videos, warning that they would be leaked if she attempted to escape.

The woman, enduring days of abuse, eventually found an opportunity to flee from the house in Delhi. She made her way back to her home in Kakdwip after a harrowing ordeal. Once back, the woman reported the incident to the Patharpratima police, who took swift action. In her statement, she confirmed the threats made by Toton, who allegedly continued to intimidate her by saying he would spread the videos online.

Upon receiving the complaint, the police arrested Toton and presented him before the Kakdwip court. The court ordered a 14-day judicial custody for the accused. The authorities have confirmed that Toton’s arrest follows a thorough investigation, which began immediately after the woman returned home.

Investigators are now working to determine whether Toton is involved in human trafficking or if this incident is part of a larger network. They are questioning whether he has previously been involved in similar crimes or played a role as a middleman in trafficking operations. The police are continuing their inquiry to uncover more details and ensure that the full scope of this case is understood.
