Bhajan Lal Sharma of the BJP was sworn in as the new CM of Rajasthan in a historic ceremony held at Ramnivas Bag in Jaipur, The first-time MLA won the elections from the Sanganer assembly seat with an impressive margin of over 48,000 votes.
During the oath-taking ceremony, administered by Governor Kalraj Mishra, BJP MLAs Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa were sworn in as deputies. The event was attended by PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and several BJP chief ministers, including the outgoing Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
Sharma, hailing from Bharatpur district, expressed his commitment to working on PM Narendra Modi's vision for development. He emphasized that the new BJP team under his leadership would strive to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Rajasthan.
The BJP's announcement of Bhajan Lal Sharma marked a generational shift in key heartland states, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chattisgarh, where the party secured significant victories in the recent assembly polls. In the November 25 assembly election in Rajasthan, the BJP won 115 seats out of the 199 contested, while the ruling Congress party managed to secure only 69 seats.
