Bhawanipur homeopathic doctor accused of sexual harassment by patient

A young woman filed a written complaint on Saturday at Bhawanipur police station in South Kolkata accusing a homeopathic doctor of sexual harassment. The incident reportedly took place in the doctor’s chamber located on Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Road, next to a well-known homeopathic medicine shop. The complainant had visited the doctor seeking treatment for a physical ailment.

According to the complaint, the doctor allegedly used various excuses to initiate inappropriate physical contact in the chamber. The woman opposed the doctor’s actions, but he reportedly claimed that the conduct was necessary for her health examination. The victim has explicitly accused the doctor of sexually harassing her under the guise of medical treatment.

Following the complaint, Bhawanipur police registered a case and have started an investigation into the allegations. A police team has been assigned to locate the doctor, who has not been present at his chamber since the incident and is said to have left his residence. The police confirmed the search is ongoing.
