The Bidhannagar Commissionerate conducted a press conference where DC DD Kuldeep Sanowani announced that ₹2.05 crore, recovered from cyber fraud cases, had been refunded to victims. The amount was traced and retrieved by the Bidhannagar Cyber Crime Police, which has been actively investigating online fraud incidents. The refunds were issued to victims residing in various locations, including Baguiati and Salt Lake City, who had lost money to cybercriminals.
DC DD Sanowani stated that cybercrime-related financial frauds in the area have exceeded ₹100 crore, highlighting the scale of the issue. The recovered amount was returned to affected individuals following investigations by the cybercrime unit. Authorities continue to track fraudulent transactions and take legal action against those involved in cyber fraud.
