In a significant setback for Jharkhand Congress just before the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, the entire team of the Jamtara Congress District Committee has defected to BJP. This move is viewed as another substantial blow to the Congress party's standing in the state. BJP state president Babulal Marandi extended a warm welcome to the new members at the Circuit House in Jamshedpur, including Jamtara Congress District President Hari Mohan Mishra and other key officials.
Addressing the gathering, BJP State President Babulal Marandi emphasized the contrast between PM Modi's focus on national interests and the purported self-serving agenda of dynastic parties. Marandi welcomed the Congress leaders into the BJP fold, urging them to play an active role in their new party. The defection comes amidst serious allegations against MLA Irfan Ansari, with discontent brewing among Congress leaders over his leadership style, prompting their decision to leave the party.
