Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan recently shared a touching incident on his blog, recounting his encounter with a young girl selling roses on the rain-soaked streets of Mumbai.
The renowned actor's compassionate gesture on a rainy day towards the girl, who seemed hesitant to accept money, has warmed the hearts of many.
He noticed the little girl moving from car window to car window, offering a small bunch of red roses wrapped in worn-out paper plastic. The girl's face bore the marks of weathering, and it was evident that her purpose was to sell the roses and provide for herself and her family.
Witnessing the girl face disinterest and refusal from other vehicles, Amitabh felt compelled to help her. He called out to her, despite the warning signals from the police car stationed behind him. Initially hesitant, the girl eventually approached Amitabh's car, expressing her apprehension to both the police and the lowered window.
Moved by the girl's plight, Amitabh did not inquire about the price of the roses. Instead, he gave her some money without counting it, emphasizing that it was unnecessary to do so. The girl accepted the money hesitantly and handed over the bouquet to Amitabh, uncertain if he would negotiate. However, he assured her that she could keep it and encouraged her to leave.
In his blog post, Amitabh expressed that he had nothing more to add but to convey the profound impact his small act of generosity had on the young girl. The money he gave her would not only provide sustenance for herself but also potentially feed her family for days. He described the face of the girl, filled with gratitude and disbelief, as she realized that hunger was being taken care of, and her family would be relieved. Her joy was evident, and Amitabh imagined her rushing home to share the good news with her loved ones.
Amitabh Bachchan's story of encountering the young girl and his selfless act of kindness has resonated with people across the country.
