Big explosion at explosives manufacturing company in Nagpur, 9 people died

A devastating incident unfolded in the Bazargaon village of Nagpur district, Maharashtra, as the Solar Explosive Company witnessed a significant explosion on Sunday. The explosion occurred during the packing process in the cast booster plant, resulting in the loss of nine lives, including six women and three men.

The Solar Explosive Company, a part of the Solar Group and one of the country's major arms manufacturers for the defense sector, suffered the impact of the explosion. Relief and rescue efforts are underway at the site, while local residents express their frustration over the tragic incident. Economic Explosives Limited, operated by Solar Group and spanning 2 thousand acres, plays a crucial role in manufacturing weapons for the Indian Army and Navy, as well as exporting arms to over thirty countries.

The Solar Explosive Company, located in Bazargaon, Nagpur, faced a grim situation on Sunday when a large explosion occurred in its cast booster plant during the packing process. Nine lives were lost, with six women and three men among the casualties. Economic Explosives Limited, part of the Solar Group and run by entrepreneur Satyanarayan Nuwal, is a significant contributor to the defense sector, manufacturing various weapons for the Indian Army and Navy.

Additionally, the company exports weapons to more than thirty countries outside India. The tragedy adds to the concerns over safety, especially considering a previous fire incident in August during the disposal of waste materials by the Economic Explosives Company. Notably, the Chief of the Indian Army, General Manoj Pandey, is scheduled to visit Nagpur on December 16 and 17, raising the possibility of an inspection of the unit affected by the explosion.
