Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
Panic briefly spread in Patna on Friday after the Bihar Legislative Assembly received a threatening email claiming that the building would be blown up with a bomb. Following the alert, the Assembly administration and security agencies immediately stepped up security measures across the premises.
After the threat surfaced, Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar took immediate cognizance of the situation and convened an emergency meeting with senior officials of the Assembly Secretariat. During the meeting, the security situation was reviewed and necessary instructions were issued to strengthen protective measures.
The Speaker directed Secretary Khyati Singh to inform the State Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police of Bihar so that an urgent investigation could be initiated. Security agencies subsequently carried out a thorough search operation across the Assembly complex.
Authorities are now working to trace the origin of the threatening email and identify the person responsible for sending it. Additional police personnel have been deployed at the Assembly premises, and strict checks are being conducted on all individuals entering and leaving the complex.
