The Bihar Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday, approved 30 agenda items covering infrastructure, transport, and health departments. Major clearances include proposals related to the Patna Metro Rail project, Ganga Path construction in Munger and Bhagalpur, and dismissal of four government doctors for prolonged absence.
Under the Patna Metro Rail Project, the Cabinet approved ₹179.37 crore for the maintenance of the Priority Corridor for a duration of 2 years and 8 months. The work has been assigned to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) on a nomination basis. Additionally, ₹21.154 crore was sanctioned for renting three-car single trainsets for the corridor, with DMRC also tasked with their upkeep.
In the road infrastructure sector, administrative approval of ₹4,485.56 lakh was granted for the construction of a Road Over Bridge (ROB) between Ranipatra and Purnia railway stations, replacing an existing level crossing. Approval was also given for the continuation and expansion of Ganga Path construction works in Munger and Bhagalpur districts to improve riverfront access.
The Health Department-related decisions include the dismissal of four government doctors—Dr. Kritika Singh and Dr. Kriti Kiran (posted in Lakhisarai), Dr. Nimisha Rani (posted in Jamui), and Dr. Chandana Kumari (posted in Begusarai)—for remaining absent from duty without authorization. The decision was taken in response to continued absenteeism in violation of service rules.
