Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who recently parted ways with the Mahagathbandhan to forge a new alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), declared his commitment to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) "forever." Addressing reporters in Patna, Kumar criticized the INDIA bloc for not reconsidering the name of the alliance, emphasizing that he had urged them to choose a different name. He expressed dissatisfaction with their indecision on seat allocations and affirmed his return to the NDA, stating that he would remain with the alliance permanently.
The Janata Dal (United) chief announced that his newly formed government, in collaboration with the BJP, would seek a trust vote in the Bihar Assembly on February 10. Earlier this week, Nitish Kumar terminated the 17-month-old coalition government with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and Left parties. He then joined hands with the BJP, taking the oath as chief minister for the third time in four years. Kumar, known for his political shifts, has a history of alliance changes, having previously aligned with the BJP, parted ways, joined the NDA, and later formed alliances with opposition parties.
