Bihar Congress MLA’s 18-year-old son found dead in Patna; Suspected suicide

Ayan Khan, the 18-year-old son of Bihar Congress Legislature Party leader Shakeel Ahmad Khan, was found dead at his official residence in Patna on Monday morning. The young student, who was preparing for his Class 12 board examinations, was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan at the residence located in the Sachiwalaya area. The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death, suspecting suicide. No suicide note was found at the scene. The body has been sent for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police, Awkash Kumar, confirmed that a forensic team arrived at the scene to collect scientific evidence. He stated that authorities were investigating all angles, including whether Ayan’s death was related to pressure from the upcoming examinations. Police are speaking to family members, school teachers, and friends to understand Ayan’s mental state leading up to the incident. Shakeel Ahmad Khan, the MLA for Kadwa in Katihar district, was not in Patna at the time of the incident. He was in Ahmedabad for work, but upon learning of his son's death, he immediately returned to Patna. The family has not publicly commented on the situation. Sources close to the family reported that Ayan was a diligent student who had been focusing on his studies for the upcoming exams. No signs of distress or unusual behavior had been observed by family members or friends prior to the incident.
