In Samastipur, Bihar, a railway employee named Pramod Kumar Sahni was married to his girlfriend, Roshni Kumari, in an incident that has drawn public attention. The couple, who had been in a relationship for two years, reportedly experienced a shift in their dynamic after Pramod secured a position as a fourth-class employee in the railway department in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
According to reports, after gaining employment, Pramod allegedly began demanding a dowry of ₹10 lakh and a Bullet motorcycle as conditions for marriage. Roshni attempted to discuss these issues with him, expressing her concerns over his change in attitude, but Pramod remained firm in his demands.
In an effort to address the situation, Roshni invited Pramod to the Vidyapati Dham temple under the pretext of having a conversation about their relationship. When Pramod arrived, Roshni reportedly pressured him regarding marriage. Witnesses claim that as tensions rose, Pramod attempted to leave the scene, prompting local residents to gather.
Roshni’s family was informed of the situation and arrived at the temple shortly thereafter. They intervened and facilitated the marriage ceremony at the temple, asserting that Pramod's initial reluctance to marry without dowry was unacceptable.
