A teenage couple was allegedly forced into marriage by a group of villagers in Nalanda district on Valentine's Day.
The video, which is widely shared on social media platforms, shows the couple surrounded by residents of Barah village. The young man was asked to paint vermilion on the girl's forehead.
Residents of Barah caught the couple in an uncomfortable position on the outskirts of the village on Tuesday. They both brought to the village and called their family members and after the consent of the parents, the marriage was solemnized. The boy, a resident of Saidpur village in Patna district, was visiting his relatives in Barah village, where he fell in love with the girl.
Police station in charge of Kalyan Bigha, Chandramouli Verma said on Wednesday that the couple belonged to the same caste and their marriage was solemnized with the consent of their parents.
