"We expect potato prices to drop starting tomorrow", say authorities
Veteran politician Biman Bose, aged 88, was admitted to a Kolkata hospital due to deteriorating health after participating in a political program in South Dinajpur, North Bengal, despite a persistent fever. Bose, a prominent figure in the Left Front, had been unwell for three days before attending the program. Cold air exposure during his train journey worsened his symptoms, leading to his hospitalization upon returning to Kolkata.
Reports reveal that Bose’s health deteriorated further during his journey back, particularly while in Malda. Despite suggestions to seek medical care immediately, Bose preferred to continue his treatment at the party office, Alimuddin Street. However, upon his arrival in Kolkata, his condition warranted an urgent hospital admission.
Currently, hospital sources confirm that Bose’s condition is stable. Medical evaluations revealed a lung infection, and he is under antibiotic treatment. Today, additional blood tests are scheduled to monitor his progress. CPM State Secretary Mohammad Salim noted that Bose’s fever had persisted despite initial treatment, which prompted his hospital admission.
Bose, known for his disciplined lifestyle and deep-rooted commitment to his party, spends most of his time at the party office, which has been a significant address in his political journey.
