Superintendent of Police Nagendra Tripathi has been removed by Navanna. Bhaskar Mukhopadhyay has been brought to that position. Nagendra has been sent to the state police directorate.
Not only that, more changes have been made in the state police. Navanna sources had already reported about this change. Many officers were due for promotion. Nagendra Tripathi was also in that list. Nagendra has been made DIG of Police Directorate from Superintendent of Police.
Bhaskar Mukhopadhyay has been brought in as Superintendent of Police of Birbhum district in place of Nagendra. He was the police superintendent of Sundarbans till now. Koteshwar Rao has been appointed Superintendent of Police of Sundarbans in place of Bhaskar. He was the police superintendent of the anti-corruption branch (headquarters).
Incidentally, Birbhum's Margram became sensitive due to the bomb blast on Saturday night. Two people died in the bomb blast. It is not yet clear whether there is any link between the transfer of SP of Birbhum district within 24 hours of that incident. However, Nagendra Tripathi was supposed to be promoted.
