BJP leaders, including Suvendu Adhikari, have taken to social media to accuse Trinamool Congress (TMC) of another instance of violence, this time involving the beating of a woman in the Ratua Block of Malda district.
The incident allegedly took place in Sambalpur Gram Panchayat (GP), where a TMC leader, identified as Md. Anarul Haque was reportedly caught on camera assaulting a woman with a bamboo stick. A disturbing detail from the video reveals someone nearby instructing Haque not to hit the woman in the stomach.
This incident has sparked outrage from BJP leaders, who are accusing TMC of repeatedly mistreating women in the state. They pointed to a growing list of similar incidents, including in areas like Chopra, Ariadaha, and Cooch Behar. BJP leaders are drawing a grim comparison, asking if West Bengal is turning into Afghanistan, where the safety and dignity of women are under threat.
The video from Malda shows the woman with her hands tied behind her back, grimacing in pain as she is beaten. BJP leaders are highlighting these images, accusing TMC of perpetuating a culture of impunity and violence.
