BJP alleges bus carrying supporters vandalized in Medinipur while heading to Brigade rally

In Narayangarh constituency of West Medinipur, a BJP vehicle traveling to the Brigade Parivartan Rally in Kolkata was allegedly vandalized early Saturday morning, prompting concerns among local political circles. Reports suggest that the bus was attacked while en route, and at least one BJP worker was reportedly assaulted during the incident. The event has heightened tensions in the district ahead of the rally addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Kolkata Traffic Police has issued advisories for March 14, warning residents about restrictions on vehicular movement and diversions in key areas surrounding the Brigade Parade Ground. Roads including Esplanade Ramp, K.P. Road, Hospital Road, Lovers Lane, Casuarina Avenue, and Queensway will be controlled throughout the day as part of security and crowd management arrangements. Authorities have also prohibited parking along major thoroughfares near the venue and limited movement of goods vehicles, except those carrying essential supplies.

Additionally, a “Temporary No Fly Zone” has been declared within a 3 km radius around the parade ground from 6 am to 6 pm, covering drones, UAVs, gliders, and non-scheduled aircraft. Police emphasized that all types of vehicles along the Prime Minister’s convoy and procession routes may face temporary suspension or diversion, and residents are advised to plan travel accordingly while maintaining adherence to safety and security protocols.
