BJP alleges Pawan Khera holds two voter IDs, Congress blames Election Commission

The political fight over alleged electoral malpractice escalated after BJP accused Congress national spokesperson Pawan Khera of holding two active voter identity cards in Delhi. BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya claimed that Khera is registered in both Jangpura and New Delhi Assembly constituencies, terming it a serious violation of electoral laws.

Malviya shared the details on X, calling Congress the “quintessential vote chor” and demanding a probe by the Election Commission of India. He alleged that Khera had two separate EPIC numbers — XHC1992338 (Jangpura) and SJE0755967 (New Delhi). “It is now for the Election Commission to investigate how Pawan Khera holds two active EPIC numbers, and whether he voted multiple times,” Malviya wrote.

Reacting to the charge, Pawan Khera dismissed BJP’s claims and held the Election Commission responsible for the discrepancy. He clarified that he had shifted from New Delhi constituency in 2016 and followed due procedure to get his name deleted. “I would like to know from the Election Commission who is being made to cast vote from the New Delhi constituency in my name. I want the CCTV footage,” Khera said.

The fresh row comes a day after Rahul Gandhi warned of exposing the BJP over alleged “vote chori” with what he called a “hydrogen bomb.” BJP leaders have accused Congress of hypocrisy, pointing to past instances of voter list controversies linked to senior party figures
