PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
Serious allegations of illegal land sale have surfaced in the Tamalukh block of Mayna Assembly constituency. BJP MLA Ashok Dinda has accused local TMC leader Chittaranjan Bhoumik of selling government cremation ground and irrigation department land for personal gain. The TMC leader has denied all claims.
According to BJP sources, the land in question is located in the Telipota Bazar area of Shrirampur Gram Panchayat. The allegations state that Bhoumik fenced off the area along the Hansuakhalai canal embankment, which was previously used by the public for commuting.
Jyotsna Bhoumik, a family member of the TMC leader, filed a written complaint with the block administration and local police, claiming that public pathway land and the cremation ground were being sold illegally for money.
MLA Ashok Dinda inspected the site on Thursday and interacted with local residents. He alleged that the TMC leader is selling public land for large sums and also claimed that government-planted trees along the canal were cut down during the process.
The matter has been formally reported to the Block Development Officer and the Land Reform Department. The allegations have escalated political tensions in the area as legal proceedings are being pursued.
