BJP calls Congress 'Gaaliwadi' over AI video of PM's mother

The Bihar Congress has ignited a major political controversy by sharing an AI-generated video on the social media platform X, featuring characters that closely resemble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother, Heeraben Modi. The video, marked as "AI GENERATED," was posted with a Hindi caption, "Maa appears in Saheb’s dreams. Watch the Interesting Dialogue," drawing immediate and fierce condemnation from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In the video, the character resembling PM Modi is shown going to bed after a day of "vote theft." The satirical clip then transitions into a dream sequence where a character resembling his mother appears and scolds him. She accuses him of using her name for political gain and references a past incident when she was seen in a queue for exchanging old currency notes after demonetisation, subtly tying the act to the video's critical message.

The BJP has reacted with outrage to the video, calling it a new low in political discourse. BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla took to X, branding the video as "shameful" and "disgusting," and stating that the Congress has "crossed all limits" by targeting a person who is no longer alive. He asserted that the party has become "GAALIWADI instead of Gandhiwadi," accusing it of disrespecting women and motherhood.

The incident is the latest in a series of similar attacks. Just last month, "abusive" slogans were reportedly chanted from a stage during Rahul Gandhi's 'Vote Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar's Darbhanga, allegedly targeting the Prime Minister and his mother. The viral video of that incident also drew sharp criticism, establishing a pattern of such remarks in the state's political arena.
