BJP fields Maithili Thakur from Alinagar, releases second list of 12 candidates for Bihar elections

BJP on Tuesday released its second list of 12 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections 2025, continuing preparations ahead of the polls. Notably, singer Maithili Thakur has been fielded from the Alinagar seat, bringing a popular cultural figure into the political fray. Former IPS officer Anand Mishra will contest from the Buxar seat, reflecting the party’s strategy of combining celebrity appeal with administrative experience.

The announcement was made via party channels and confirmed by ANI. The BJP’s first list included candidates for several key constituencies, and with this second list, the party is steadily finalising its lineup. The selections indicate BJP’s focus on both grassroots connectivity and wider voter appeal through recognizable public figures.
