BJP frees elderly couple's house from illegal TMC occupation in Howrah's Belur

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has successfully liberated a residential property on Belur Station Road in Howrah district belonging to an elderly couple that had been allegedly occupied by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) for several years. Following a recent shift in the state's political landscape, local BJP workers actively intervened to clear the unauthorized political establishment. Rather than leaving the property vacant, the BJP has formally taken possession of the space by executing a valid, fully legal commercial rental agreement with the rightful senior citizen owners, converting it into a local BJP party office.

According to the property owners, Subhash Mitra and his wife, the local Trinamool Congress leadership had forcibly commandeered a vital room in their house to run a regional party hub while refusing to clear any monthly rental dues. The elderly couple further alleged that whenever they courageously attempted to demand their rightful financial compensation, they were met with aggressive physical intimidation and severe mental torture by local Trinamool workers. Out of absolute fear of violent political retaliation, Mitra had chosen to keep quiet for years, despite reportedly being pushed and physically assaulted on one occasion when he attempted to protest.

The political dynamics shifted permanently after the change of state governance, during which the long-standing TMC office was left locked and abandoned by party workers who refused to surrender the keys to the family. Taking note of the crisis, BJP workers led by Bali 1 Mandal youth leader Deepak Yadav arrived at the Belur Station Road address to break open the illegal setup. After thoroughly vacating the premises, the party workers formally handed the keys back to the emotional elderly couple, bringing an immediate end to their protracted legal and physical ordeal.
