BJP’s Yuva Morcha staged a major protest in Alipore today, demanding the identification and deportation of alleged illegal Pakistani nationals residing in West Bengal. The protest began with a march from Belvedere Road, which led to the District Magistrate (DM) office. During the rally, demonstrators broke through two barricades set up by the police, eventually entering the District Inspector (DI) office premises.
The march was led by BJP leaders Indranil Khan and Debrashree Chowdhury, who were vocal about their demand for immediate government action on the issue. The protesters raised slogans and sat on the road outside the DM office, urging authorities to take action against the reported influx of illegal migrants from Pakistan into the state. According to the BJP leaders, the state government’s lack of action has led to an increasing number of unauthorized Pakistani nationals settling in various regions of West Bengal, a situation they claimed is threatening national security.
The protesters called for urgent steps to identify and deport those migrants. The demonstration caused traffic disruptions in the area, and a heightened police presence was deployed around the DM office to maintain order. At the time of reporting, no injuries or arrests had been confirmed. The protest concluded with a sit-in at the protest site, but further developments remain under observation.
