In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has initiated a comprehensive public relations campaign in West Bengal, aiming to connect with the masses on a significant scale. The campaign, which commenced on June 1 and will run until June 30, involves deploying 160 leaders from various states across different regions of the state.
Leading the campaign in West Bengal is Kavinder Gupta, former deputy chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and a prominent member of the BJP's national executive. Accompanying him is former Bihar BJP president Mangal Pandey. Currently, they are conducting meetings in Hooghly, Burdwan-Durgapur, Bishnupur, and Bangaon, providing a platform for interaction and engagement.
In an exclusive interview, Kavinder Gupta expressed the party's intention to connect with people through multiple avenues. Public meetings will be organized, focusing on various groups such as farmers, women, youth, scheduled castes and tribes, OBCs, minorities, and more. Additionally, Gupta emphasized the importance of engaging with regional leaders, influential individuals, long-standing party members, editors, senior journalists, businessmen, artists, scientists, sportsmen, bloggers, trade union leaders, and beneficiaries of central government schemes.
As part of the campaign, Yoga Day will be celebrated on June 21 in different regions, fostering a sense of unity and well-being. Furthermore, special programs are planned for June 23 to commemorate Shyamaprasad Mukherjee's death anniversary. On June 25, the last Sunday of the month, efforts will be made to telecast Prime Minister Modi's popular program "Mann Ki Baat" to reach a wider audience.
To enhance public awareness, Kavinder Gupta visited the India-Bangladesh land port on Monday, highlighting the significance of the Centre's Rs 450-crore project at the regional level. Additionally, visits to other important locations, such as Burdwan, are scheduled. BJP leaders from other states are also actively participating in the campaign, including Ranchi Mayor and party co-supervisor Hopeful Wood, who joined rallies in Srirampur. Sushil Kumar Modi, former Bihar deputy chief minister and Rajya Sabha MP, visited the Super Specialty Block of North Bengal Medical College.
The campaign in West Bengal is supported by prominent BJP leaders, including All India Vice President Dilip Ghosh, State President Dr. Sukant Majumdar, Former National Secretary Rahul Sinha, Mahila Morcha State President Falguni Patra, and Scheduled Tribe Morcha National President Sameer Oravan.
