Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shanku Dev Panda along with a group of aggrieved individuals visited the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Salt Lake on Monday evening.
The purpose of their visit was to file a complaint against Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan, accusing her of being involved in a fraudulent scheme that affected many people. The complainants allege that they were defrauded by M/s Seven Senses Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., a company in which Nusrat Jahan was allegedly a director.
According to the victims, the company promised them ownership of the apartments within four years. However, despite paying substantial sums, the promised flats never materialized even after 2018. Frustrated by the lack of progress, the victims approached the court, which subsequently ordered a police investigation into the case.
Shockingly, activists alleged that funds from 429 individuals were diverted to the company's account and some of the company's directors, including Nusrat Jahan, allegedly used the funds to buy private apartments.
BJP leader Shanku Dev Panda said on behalf of the aggrieved customers that he has asked the ED for a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind this alleged financial fraud. Panda expressed concern over the lack of response from Nusrat Jahan, who was summoned by the court in connection with the case and stressed the need for accountability and transparency.
"If justice is not done to these duped individuals in the next 48 hours, we will take them to Kolkata to demand answers," warned Shanku Dev Panda, stressing the urgency of the matter.
The complaint against the Trinamool MP has raised eyebrows in West Bengal's political landscape and added fuel to the already charged atmosphere between the BJP and the ruling Trinamool Congress.
