BJP leader tries to steal bedsheet from train's AC coach! Video goes viral; TMC mocks party

Mrinmoy Majumdar, a leader of the BJP's Legal Cell in Hooghly and an advocate by profession, was allegedly caught red-handed while trying to steal a bedsheet from an AC coach of a train. The incident reportedly occurred while Majumdar was traveling to Suri Court. In the now viral video, a train attendant is heard confronting him, stating that buying a ticket does not grant permission to take the railway's property home.

The viral footage shows the leader repeatedly saying "sorry" as he was caught by the railway staff. Passengers around him were seen expressing their shock and protesting his behavior. While the authenticity of the video has not been independently verified, the visual evidence has caused significant embarrassment for the state BJP unit, especially since Majumdar is known to be close to high-profile leaders like Suvendu Adhikari and Locket Chatterjee.

The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) was quick to pounce on the opportunity, using the video to launch a scathing attack on the saffron party. TMC state general secretary Kunal Ghosh shared the video, sarcastically labeling Majumdar as a "BJP asset" who couldn't even resist stealing a train sheet. The TMC's official social media handles claimed that this incident reveals the "true character" of BJP leaders who talk about a corruption-free India but engage in petty theft.

The TMC further alleged that the BJP leader not only tried to steal but also reportedly harassed the coach attendant during the confrontation. Photos of Majumdar with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Suvendu Adhikari are now being circulated alongside the viral video to mock the party’s tall claims of "Sanskar" (values). As of now, the BJP has not issued an official clarification regarding the conduct of its legal cell leader.
