Bengal BJP leader and Asansol MLA Agnimitra Paul suffered a sudden deterioration in health on Thursday night due to a brain stroke and was admitted to a private hospital on EM Bypass, Kolkata. She is under the care of senior neurologist Dr. Amit Haldar, and her condition is currently stable, though the next 48 hours will be critical. About a week ago, she had also fallen ill and was brought to Kolkata on August 21 after suddenly becoming unwell in Asansol. Despite the stroke, no paralysis or immobility has been observed in any part of her body. Her health worsened after an altercation and walkout by BJP MLAs during question hour in the assembly, where she was suspended amid intense commotion. The news of her condition has caused concern among her family and party supporters, who are visiting the hospital and praying for her speedy recovery.
