On the night of Friday, October 28, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Shrirupa Mitra Choudhary was injured in a car accident while returning from Vijayadashami rituals in the Angrezibazar area of Malda district, West Bengal.
Choudhary's car was struck by a speeding motorcycle, causing the vehicle's glass to shatter and inflicting injuries upon the MLA. He has been subsequently admitted to the hospital for medical attention. The BJP has raised allegations of a conspiracy in the incident, suggesting that Trinamool workers may have been involved, and the victim MLA has lodged a formal complaint with the police.
According to sources, Shrirupa Mitra Choudhary was on his way back after attending a party program in Manikchak when the accident occurred. The collision transpired in the Milky Khaskholi area of English Bazaar, where a speeding motorcycle, carrying four individuals, rear-ended the MLA's car, causing the rear glass to shatter and injuring Choudhary's hand, resulting in bleeding.
Security personnel assigned to protect the MLA managed to apprehend two of the motorbike riders, while the other two individuals escaped the scene. The police have arrived at the site and have detained the two individuals in custody as they initiate an investigation into the incident.
