BJP MLA Shubhendu Adhikari accuses Mamata and commission of blood-stained hands before panchayat elections

BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition Shubhendu Adhikari has attacked Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the State Election Commission over the murder of Congress worker in Khargram, Murshidabad on Friday night, on the very first day of nomination for Panchayat elections in West Bengal. He has said that the hands of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and State Election Commissioner Rajeev Sinha are stained with blood.

On Saturday morning, he wrote on Twitter, "Morning tells how the day will go. Phoolchand Shaikh is the first victim of panchayat elections by Trinamool Congress goons in Khargram, Murshidabad on the first day of nomination. Three others are seriously injured. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and State Election Commissioner Rajeev Sinha have blood on their hands. This is just a beginning. People of West Bengal should brace yourself for the most barbaric bloodshed ever as the State Election Commission and the Government of West Bengal They have colluded to keep their political interests above people's lives. Mamta's police will not be able to provide any security."

It is worth mentioning that the opposition is adamant on handing over the security of Panchayat elections to the supervision of central forces. However, the Calcutta High Court has left the decision on the deployment of central forces to the state government.
