BJP observe 'Hindu Shaheed Diwas' at Bengal Assembly over Murshidabad violence

In a politically charged atmosphere, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) observed ‘Hindu Shaheed Diwas’ led by Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday in protest against the recent killing of two Hindu men — Hargobinda Das and Chandan Das — in the Jafrabad area of Shamserganj, located in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district. The party staged symbolic protests inside the state assembly and demanded the resignation of the state’s Police Minister, holding the administration accountable for the growing violence against Hindus.

The incident, which has sparked outrage, allegedly involved the brutal murder of the two victims under mysterious circumstances. BJP leaders claimed that the killings reflect a deteriorating law and order situation and accused the state government of appeasement politics, particularly in minority-dominated regions.

Wearing black badges and holding placards, BJP MLAs voiced their discontent inside the assembly chamber. They called for unity among Hindus and urged citizens to rise above political divisions to demand justice.

The call to observe 'Hindu Shaheed Diwas' was also echoed outside the assembly, with district-level protests and candle marches held across several towns in Bengal. BJP leaders claimed that the state’s silence on the killings further proves its anti-Hindu bias and demanded a CBI investigation into the incident.
