BJP promises to take back lands from B'deshi Muslims, implement UCC in Assam manifesto

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday released its manifesto for the upcoming elections in Assam, outlining 31 key promises focused on governance, employment and social welfare. Among the major commitments are action against alleged “love jihad”, reclaiming land reportedly seized by infiltrators and implementing the Uniform Civil Code in the state.

According to the manifesto, the party has pledged to introduce the Uniform Civil Code if voted to power and to strengthen measures to prevent what it describes as “love jihad”. It has also promised to recover land allegedly occupied by Bangladeshi infiltrators and ensure stricter monitoring of illegal migration in the state. Employment generation forms a significant part of the document, with the party promising to create 200,000 jobs for the youth over the next five years. The manifesto also emphasises administrative reforms and governance measures aimed at strengthening public services and economic opportunities.

In terms of welfare initiatives, the party has proposed a major increase in financial assistance under the Arunodoi scheme, raising the monthly amount for women from ₹1,250 to ₹3,000. It has also announced a plan to provide support of up to ₹25,000 to around four million women through the Lakhpati Didi scheme.
